Astrantia

Astrantia is one of our favorite textural flowers to use at May Flowers -- it comes in several different colors, but we use mauve and white most often.

Also known as masterwort, astrantia is actually in the carrot family. Each blossom is formed by a compound umbel, meaning stalks of tiny flowers are arranged kind of like umbrella spokes originating from a single point.

Astrantia is a perfect filler bloom to use in everything from bouquets to boutonnieres for a subtle accent of color and an eye-catching texture. It also holds its color fairly well and makes an excellent dried flower.
