Moody Styled Shoot
After a crazy year we are finally catching our breath and wanted to share these amazing photos from a styled shoot we did in July. One of our favorite photographers, Daisy Moffat, agreed to make the trek into the woods at Rainbow Lake Trail for a photo shoot.
We worked with several other great local vendors, including Ever After Bridal for the dress, Jess McClendon for hair and makeup, Southern Niceties for the invitations, Naomi as the model, and of course Daisy and her husband Beau for the photos.
We found this fantastic old fireplace in the woods and transformed it into a lush elopement scene. It involved quite the hike and a lot of worrying over the impending thunderstorms, but we think it was well worth it.
In case you ever wondered what goes into the making of a styled shoot, it involves a lot of sweat, laughter, bug spray and bags -- but mostly a lot of bags.
The beautiful Naomi was just dazzling in this Stella York illusion gown. She carried a bouquet in berry tones composed of garden roses, coxcomb, stock, astilbe, allium, millet, astrantia, ranunculus, scabiosa, dahilias, blackberries and hanging amaranthus. These flowers created a dramatic contrast to the lighter greens and browns of the woods. This contrast, along with the overcast skies and candlelight, lent an overall moody tone to the shoot that we absolutely loved!
We couldn't have been more pleased with the way the shoot turned out! This team was pretty fantastic to work despite the threat of rain and a million mosquito bites (and one spider bite) -- we're thrilled to have been able to work with them.
